The Work of WWII That Evokes A More Powerful Reaction

Imagine a small, poorly ventilated, crowded carriage in your other, and your own, dirt and moisture. Make sure you arrive in a place called concentration camp and everything is okay. Please try to imagine. You notice that you are being cheated, staring at the gas that comes into the room where the horrific crowd comes out of the ceiling. Then you left. World War II was a petrochemical war that struck the Earth with great suspicion.

There are interesting and inevitable consequences between Germany's response to the terrible acts of World War II and the US response to terrible slavery. Clearly, the Holocaust is a more recent atrocity than slavery. Nevertheless, regarding past estimates, there are some interesting behavioral differences between the two countries. As German Prime Minister Angela Merkel said in 2008, Germany is "shameful" about the massacre of six million Jews. I experienced this shame directly. Another important person (SO) in my 5 years is German, and I lived in that country for 1 year in 2011. The shame related to the Holocaust is still widespread in the German society. That is not what I expected. To live in a society that seeks to thoroughly understand past actions is refreshing even if these actions are so terrible. America is very different in this respect.
