The Women's Movement

Women's movement is characterized by a "constitutional" right stipulated in the legislation and a woman's desire to obtain a legal status equivalent to men by obtaining civil and political rights. In Romania, the first wave of the feminist movement was held in parallel with the Western women's movement. This is a campaign where elite educated women can access international information. The important time of this movement was before the Romanian constitution was enacted in 1923.

The women's movement before the 1920s feature voting rights and it has made women vote. From the 1990s to the beginning of the 20th century most women's movements focused on general social inequalities such as poor working conditions and residential environment, and social diseases such as alcoholism and prostitution . For example, in the 1930s, black women in the southwestern United States joined labor unions such as the International Women's Clothing Association (ILGWU) and protested the low wages and working environments that they had to endure. In addition to this universal social activity and voting rights, gender specific topics including work and wage equality are not the main focus areas.

During the 1899 New Women's Movement Initiative (NWMI), social justice feminism became the focus of the women's movement. The NWMI is a series of meetings aimed at "Establishing relationships, trusts and analysis necessary for revitalizing American feminism". During these meetings, people have tried to reach agreement on whether women's movements should pursue rights or pursue social justice. Those who want to become women's rights, the title of social justice is afraid to ignore the discrimination faced by women. This is because feminism and the beginning of women's movements are drawn as white middle-aged women. Therefore, these Caucasian women do not want to regard this movement as social justice. By treating them as social justice feminism, it does not understand that it contains more people's rights than their rights and even ethnic minorities are included.
