The Winter Olympics

Winter Olympic Games are characterized by sports where many Americans are not necessarily familiar. Some viewers want to know whether to call a specific game as sports or allow it. Luge is one of the sports that makes audiences wonder why they should play first. Game participants lie on the glass fiber sled without a brake system and run on ice at a maximum speed of 140 km / h. The Winter Olympics (French: Jeux olympiques d'hiver) is an important international sports event to be held every four years for snow and ice. The first Winter Olympics and the 1924 Winter Olympic Games were held in Chamonix, France. The contemporary Olympic Games were inspired by the ancient Olympic Games held in Olympia, Greece from the 8th century BCE to the 4th century AD. Baron Pierre de Coubertin established the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 1894 and the first contemporary summer Olympics in Athens, Greece in 1896. The International Olympic Committee is the governing body of the Olympic Movement and the Olympic Charter defines its structure and authority.

Tokyo After the Summer Olympics in 1964 and the Sapporo Winter Olympics in 1972 (Asia's first winter Olympics), Nagano held the 1998 Winter Olympic Games and the Paralympic Games, the 3 rd Olympic Games and the 2 nd Olympic Winter Olympics. As of 2018, Nagano is the southernmost point of the Olympic Winter Games. The Nagano Olympic memorial marathon is held once a year. Nagano prefecture has a continental climate of high temperature and humidity (Keben climate classification Dfa) and is adjacent to wet subtropical climate (Keben climate classification Cfa). It is in the protected inland valley and means that precipitation is less than anywhere in Japan except Hokkaido. From December to March, the total winter snow in the city is 2.57 meters (101 inches), but during these cold seasons the coast from H to Wakkanai is not overly cloudy.

Amidst the warm weather, the Caribbean countries were more successful at the summer Olympic Games than the Winter Olympic Games. However, the Jamaican National Sled Team is eligible to participate in the Winter Olympics since 1988. Other famous Caribbean competitors at the Winter Olympics are Erroll Fraser, Dow Travers, George Tucker and Anne Abernathy. The Caribbean Award Sports Icon (CASI) is based on the achievements of the past 60 years (1948 - 2008) and succeeded in various sports fields. The Caribbean Sports Hall of Fame recognizes the great achievement of Caribbean sports, and the reporters award a trophy to the top athlete every year.
