In Mexico City, Mexico, approximately 30 million inhabitants are emitting air pollution, smoke and waste into neighboring rivers and branches. The groundwater well is contaminated with chemicals in the soil of the land that several lakes covered hundreds of years ago. In other places such as Buenos Aires in Argentina, slaughterhouses abandoned the remains of the left side of the Rapurata River because the polluted water eventually decayed. In 1991, about 3,000 cattle lungs were inserted into the river to function as a garbage system. Cow's lungs, dead pigs, horses, cows, fish float every day in the river
