Water shortages are getting worse in most countries of the world. For China with only 20% of the world's population and 7% of the available water, this problem can be disastrous (Hofstedt 2010, 72). Therefore, in order to avoid or at least weaken China's future water crisis, several actions and measures should be taken. In this research, the following three solutions will be proposed and analyzed in terms of efficiency and applicability: improvement of water efficiency; use of local authorities to manage water resources; and reasonable water price .
Regarding the topic of the country, China seems to face the shortage of water resources. There is a project in China that includes these canals from the Yangtze River to the northern destination. The project will help to ensure the supply of agriculture and industry there. Zhang Jiyue, deputy director of the Ministry of Water Resources said, "This project is essential to mitigate water shortages, improve ecosystems and promote the central government's strategy for Western regional development" . . This is the process of protecting the individual underground drinking water sources of various communities. These plans will deal with local water supply problems well. Since the late 1980's, a wellhead plan was implemented, and since that time more than 10,000 plans have been developed in cities across the country.
Journalist Ma Jun, a Chinese environmental activist, warned in 2006 that China is facing water scarcity such as water shortage, water pollution, water quality deterioration. Mr. Ma Yun believes that 400 cities out of 600 cities in China are facing various degrees of water shortage including 30 cities out of 32 large cities. Ma Yun believes that between 2001 and 2006, wastewater is increasing and 300 million farmers are drinking unsafe drinking water. "In the north, underground water has been overused due to depletion of surface water, so that about half of the population of China accounts for 15% of this population, so the water shortage in the north can have a serious impact. Southern water resources are sufficient, but due to serious water pollution, clean water resources are lacking, and the Yangtze River and Pearl River are rich in delta-rich water resources.
