Vikings were those who attacked valuables of silver and many other towns and monasteries. Most of them attack monasteries because they are places where most money and expensive items are located. Viking was a mysterious trouble at the beginning and became well known. So, where are these mysterious warriors coming from? I am from Scandinavia. Scandinavia was founded in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland. The word Viking does not actually wear a horn but means an attacker of a Scandinavian sea with a helmet round.
Viking attacks were mainly monasteries and began in England in the late 8th century. The first monastery attacked was 793, located in Lindis Farn on the northeastern coast; the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle explained Viking as a heathen. Monasteries and cathedrals are very popular targets because of their richness and valuable items that are convenient to carry around. The 840-year-old Anglo-Saxon Chronicle stated that Wessex's Äthelwulf was beaten at Somerset's Cahampton and then defeated at this region's 35 Hampton Viking ships.
England has been attacked by Viking since the late eighth century. Originally it was mainly a monastery. The first monastery attacked was in 793, Lindisfarne on the northeastern coast where the Anglo - Saxon Chronicle described Vikings as heathens. Attack attacked Viking, changing tactics and continuing until the 860s instead of dispatching a large army to invade the United Kingdom. This army was represented by the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle as "Great Pagan Army". The Danish people eventually defeated Alfred the Great in the battle of Eggenton in 878. Following this, the Wedmore Treaty described by British Asser was divided into Anglo - Saxons and Vikings of Wessex. However, another Danish army working in the African continent is being threatened. Viking troops furious on the mainland encouraged Alfred to protect the Kingdom of Wessex
According to the Anglo - Saxon Chronicle, in 794, a small fleet of Vikings attacked the wealthy monastery in Jarrow. Viking encountered a strong resistance than expected. Their leader was killed. The attackers escaped, moored their boat in Tynemouth, and the crew were murdered by local people. This is one of the last attacks on the UK and is 40 years old. Viking is focused on Ireland and Scotland. In 865, a group of unadjusted Danish Vikings together formed a large army and landed in East Anglia. The Anglo - Saxon Chronicle described power as a great heathen army, stating that it was led by Halfdan Ragnarsson without Ivar bone. The army crossed North Central and entered Northern Beer, occupying York (Jorvik). In 871 the great heathen troops were strengthened by the so-called Great Summer Army.
