Protein extracts from unidentified fish samples were separated by molecular weight by SDS polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Phylogenetic evaluation was achieved because some of these proteins were shared among fish. Four unknown aquatic animal species were identified by comparing actin / myosin bands using Western blot analysis. Based on the results of this assay, unidentified aquatic animals are presumed to be specimens of salmon, tilapia, salmon and shrimp, respectively.

They confirmed the existence of P. t. Using Vellerosus and P.t. mitochondrial DNA analysis, and using western blot analysis to identify SIV cpz antibody positive fecal samples, trolodite. PCR analysis was also done to analyze fecal RNA and microsatellite analysis for individual identification and sample counting was completed. This enabled SIV cpz morbidity determination at different sites and phylogenetic characterization of newly infected SIV cpz strains. However, since these data are not published in peer-reviewed scientific journals, they can not be reported on the PRN notebook page.

Western blot analysis of mitochondrial proteins is another way to quantify mitochondrial mass. However, as noted above, this should be done to cover all mitochondrial compartment proteins, including external and internal mitochondrial proteins, membrane gaps, and matrix proteins. Monitoring of external mitochondrial membrane proteins such as Tom 20, VDAC and Mfn 1/2 alone can be misleading as these proteins are preferentially degraded by the proteasome. Western blot analysis of mitochondrial matrix proteins is more appropriate and specific for mitochondrial autophagy

By microarray analysis, Ray et al. (2007) MSRA was identified in 10 genes that were significantly downregulated in human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Real-time PCR and Western blot analysis showed that expression of MSRA mRNA and protein in metastatic HCC was significantly lower than that in untranscribed HCC. MSRA transfection reduced colonization and invasiveness of the HCC cell line. Oxidation of proteins by reactive oxygen species is related to aging, oxidative stress, and many diseases. Free and protein bound methionine residues are particularly sensitive to oxidation to methionine sulfoxide derivatives, but these oxidations are easily repaired by the action of methionine sulfoxide reductase. To better understand the biological role of MSRA in metabolism, Moskovitz et al. (2001) I made a mouse strain lacking the Msra gene
