Color is a fundamental art element that refers to the use of colors in art and design. It is the most complex element due to its inherent diversity. Color theory first appeared in the 17th century when Isaac Newton discovered that white light could pass through the prism and be divided into all colors. The color spectrum contained in white light is red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, purple. Color theory subdivides into the "primary colors" of red, yellow and blue which can not be mixed with other pigments in color, and "secondary colors" of green, orange, purple generated by various combinations of primary colors.
