With the spread of "commercial" geographic information systems to the scientific community, space-based climate data has been widely used in various applications. This paper describes the role of GIS in climatology and meteorology, i) how to derive and improve spatial climate data, and ii) review GIS and space climate dataset in agriculture, ecology, forestry, and hygiene. Custom application and illness, weather forecast, hydrology, transportation, urban environment, energy and climate change aspects

Geographic Information System (GIS) is an integrated spatial information system with functions to store, manage, analyze, display, and use geographic information. Meteorological data, in most cases, contains spatial information such as vertical distance (or atmospheric pressure level) from the ground, latitude, longitude and so on. It is best to use GIS technology to process weather data. Since 2008, the Hong Kong Observatory has used GIS technology to show the estimated rainfall distribution in the Pearl River Delta region including Hong Kong within the next two hours (Figure 1). With the geospatial information display software, users can configure the zoom in, zoom out, and panorama view operations to grasp the spatial extent of the rain area.

Meteorology, climatology, atmospheric physics and atmospheric chemistry are sub-disciplines of atmospheric science. Meteorology and hydrology constitute an interdisciplinary field of hydrometeorology. The interaction between the Earth 's atmosphere and the ocean is part of the ocean - atmosphere system coupling. Meteorology is used in various fields such as military, energy production, transportation, agriculture, construction. The ability to predict rainfall and floods based on the annual cycle is obviously used by humans at least not at earlier stages but at least when settling in agriculture. The initial way of weather forecasting is based on astrology and is being carried out by the pastor. Wedding inscription on Babylonian tablet contains relation during thunderstorm. The Chaldeans differentiate between 22 ° and 46 ° halos.
