The Use of Animals in Research

In March 1980, there was an organization called an animal ethics, PETA. A team founded by Alex Pacheco and Ingrid Newkirk opposed the use of animals for research. PETA became a famous name between 1981 and 1990 when I met the IBR Behavior Research Laboratory. In the book "Monkey Business", the 10-year battle between PETA and IBR is explained. "Through all these, the Silver Spring Monkey will continue to be the most important symbol of the growing animals' rights movement" (Guillermo 12).

There was controversy between animal rights claimants and scientists as to whether animals were used correctly in experimental studies. In addition, the use of animals for such studies can find that the way to cure this disease remains controversial. In my opinion, animals can be used for experimental studies if there is no other choice, and if this is useful for science. Animal rights activists claim that humans and animals are equal, but they should be treated equally, but I do not think that people and animals look equally so animal death is a human death It is not the same as. For this reason, if animals died in science to save lives, promote scientific progress, and generally can benefit human beings, they may be considered morally somewhat moral.

The use of anti-animals in research is based on two different arguments: one relies on so-called animal rights and another depends on the results of animals. Both arguments will fail. We have duties to animals, but they have no right to infringe us. When calculating the results of animal studies, we must compare all the long-term benefits of the results achieved for animals and humans and assume moral equality of all species in the calculations I can not do it.
