After her mother's funeral, Mariam was taken to her father's house. Her father's wife did not want to have anything to do with her, so he married Rashid to the widow's shoemaker at the age of fifteen. First, Rashid treated Mariam, but after suffering multiple abortions, he abused her. Obviously, Rashid only wants Maryam to replace his lost son with his wife. Lyra lives in the same street as Rashid and Maryam. She is a young, very smart girl who shows a bright future.
The wonderful sun designed by Khaled A Housse Hosseini Khaled Hosseini is a page flipper that depicts the reality and performance of women in Afghanistan, following two women, Mariam and Laila. This novel seems to be long and overwhelming, but I draw your attention from the beginning with a sorrowful story and creative writing. Again, this book will never get boring. The unimaginable story is combined with eloquent writing, enabling the reader to connect with each character. In addition to an attractive story, this book introduces the history of Afghanistan, more specifically the treatment of women. Overall, this book is impressive, beautiful, heart-damaging, and very important. - Megan Elmer, 2019
