Lyra lives in the same street as Rashid and Maryam. She is a young, very smart girl who shows a bright future.

The unimaginable story is combined with eloquent writing, enabling the reader to connect with each character. In addition to an attractive story, this book introduces the history of Afghanistan, more specifically the treatment of women.
