The Tuskegee Syphillis Experiment

The US government is very dangerous. It was always dangerous. This simple fact is well-known nationwide, and no one knows it better than the African-American community in Macon County, Alabama. In 1932, the government began to fund infamous human experiments: "Tuskey studies untreated syphilis of black men." Researchers at Tuskegee Institute, a place of study of this shame, recruited 600 blacks from a quiet town in Alabama. About two thirds of the 600 participants were infected with syphilis; the remaining two belonged to the control group and most of them were healthy.

The scientific research of the Nazis and the use of the victims of concentration camps in the Tuskegee Syphillis experiment are one of the most shocking examples and contribute to the advancement of research ethics standards including IRB. Another important development in the development of ethical standards for human research is ultimately the IRB, which is several committees and documents. For example, the Helsinki Declaration established by the World Medical Association in 1964 was the first time that the medical research community developed a series of ethical standards intentionally. These criteria include doctors who are responsible for the well-being of patients and the happiness of patients in medical research.

From 1932 to 1972, the Tuskegee Institute, in collaboration with the US government in the Tuskegee syphilis test examined the influence of syphilis not intentionally treated. These experiments are notorious for participants in misleading research, they tell them that they are receiving syphilis treatment, and in fact the researchers simply monitor the progress of the disease. Syphilis is a debilitating disease that can cause permanent nerve damage and severe wounds to the victim (see granulomatous gingiva). Penicillin was discovered in 1927 and was used to treat human diseases in the early 1940 's. In 1947, it became a gold standard for the treatment of syphilis. And it usually required only one intramuscular dose to completely eliminate the disease. Researchers are familiar with this information, and they have chosen to save life support in order to continue their experiments. The patient was told that they had "bad blood".

Patients may not be told about the importance of new science when disease occurs. In Tuskegee, penicillin is a new treatment that has special advantages for syphilis. For IUNO, Europe approved Terceva for patients with EGFR mut and the predecessor of IUNO SATURN showed significant survival in patients with EGFR mut. In addition, Alimta showed significant efficacy in 2009 against FDA labels of lung cancer patients. IUNO trial data has not been published in medical journals nor published at major medical conferences. Since the first report of the IUNO trial by the European Medicines Agency there have been two major oncology conferences: ASCO 2016 and ESMO 2016. IUNO did not attend any meeting.
