In general, arthritis is an interesting topic, as my relatives already have symptoms associated with arthritis, joint swelling, and cartilage degradation affecting the bone. Because of several types of arthritis, the main focus of this study is osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis is characterized by a decrease in articular cartilage (Zamli and Sharif 159-166). This is a common disease affecting approximately 27 million adults in the United States (Lawrence, Felson et al. 26-35).
Osteoarthritis results and goals The purpose of this paper is to provide literature review of osteoarthritis. The topics covered are as follows. What is osteoarthritis in fact, its cause, symptom, treatment, treatment, side effect of this therapy, other treatments. This SSA has two goals. The first goal is to find out what is osteoarthritis and how it affects the body, the second aim is to find a cure available in the UK.
Two Reviews of Small Scale Randomized Control Study of Methylsulfonylmethane in Reducing Knee Arthralgia in Osteoarthritis (OA) There were 168 participants in two trials, 52 of whom received MSM, 1.5 g / Day or 6.0 g / day. Authors of the reviewers say "There is no clear conclusion yet" and "There is no clear evidence that MSM is superior to placebo in the treatment of mild to moderate osteoarthritis."
Small research on potential MSM treatment has been done for animals and humans. These MSM trials provide some advantages, especially for the treatment of oxidative stress and osteoarthritis, but there is no evidence of other uses. The comprehensive database of Natural Medicines contains an up-to-date list of health related MSM studies. In clinical trials, there are studies in which little or no side effects have been reported after 12 weeks of dosing. The side effects reported in these studies included mild gastrointestinal disorders, fatigue, headache, but did not appear to be different from placebo. In the study of large joint osteoarthritis in the last 26 weeks, no abnormal changes in adverse events or laboratory monitoring were observed when taking 6 grams of MSM a day. MSM is considered "probably safe" at the therapeutic dose, but further research is needed to evaluate the safety of long-term use.
