The three stories I decided to study are the new snowshoes by Doris Lessing, Superman and Paula Browns, and the chemistry of Grahamswift. In these three stories, writers explore complex family relationships. Selecting three stories, the writer presents a difficult relationship between families and contrasts them. The three stories I decided to study are "Flight" by Doris Lessing, "Superman and Paula Browns New Snowsuit" by Sylvia Plath, and "Chemistry" by Graham Swift.

Comparing the two short stories of the character's dilemma, we are comparing Doris Lessing's story "Flying" with Michelle Roberts's "Your Shoes". They all deal with the problem of leaving their own daughter and how it affects the whole family. Grandpa is most affected by "flight", but in "your shoes" it is a mother. "Your shoes" are written in the story of the first person from the mother's point of view. "Flight" is written to a third party. The theme of the story is growing, letting go / moving.

My grandfather must learn to give up his granddaughter. Alice, granddaughter fell in love with postmaster boys Stephen. My grandfather was angry because she was a special person for him. In order to make his granddaughter happy, he must overcome this bitterness of his mind. Love is one of the strongest emotions that normally exists after everything else has disappeared.
