The Tale of Kieu: An Overview

Kieu 's story, known as the most important part of Vietnamese literature, is the story of a young Vietnamese girl who is going to endure the suffering of this life and correct the past mistakes. She was on behalf of prostitution and was always loved by men. The only person who promised that love was not in vain was Kintran, the first person to guarantee her. Kiu was visited by a ghost and revealed to her the bad act she wore in her previous life. After his oath of love by Kiu and Kim Tron, when his uncle died he was summoned to take care of his family.

I lived in rural areas as a child. Every month the moon is full and my family is surrounded by fire in the garden. My grandmother often reads Nguyen Du's Truyen Kieu. Under the fluorescent light of the moon, a breeze blows, I feel that all the poems are integrated in my body. In other words, nature is the monologue of Kiu. She always believes in fate. Nature always follows the cycle of life. Nature has its own rules and stick to it. Likewise, influenced by Confucian philosophy, Kieu kept her misfortune and thought she was worth it. She must endure such a strange life, this is her fate. Du skillfully uses the image of small rain drops and grass blades to express Kieu's life is very small. I could not hear her voice.
