The Succession Myth in Greek Mythology

The myth of Greek mythology occurred in the early days of Greek mythology before human beings and animals existed. The story is developed around a cruel father, a vengeful mother, and an ambitious son, but it also contains the ethics of illegal imprisonment. By ensuring that innocents are free, Zeus proves that he is just more than his father or grandfather.

Uranus Uranus is the first ruler of the universe. He and his wife Gaia bore a lot of children, but Uranus loved his child Titan, and he found out that the others were outraged. There are only one eye in each of the three cyclops, but Kottos, Briareos and Gyges have 50 pairs of shoulders, 50 heads and 100 arms.

Clonus is the youngest child of Titan, Gaia leaves the arrangement of his father to him. Instead of killing her husband directly, Gaia created a solid legendary metal and forged a sickle with jagged edges.

Before giving weapons to Cronos, she asked her son to release his younger brother and sister from prison. Clonus agreed and chanted Uranus with a sickle. As retaliation Uranus predicted Cronos would be dismissed with his youngest child. When Cronus occupied his father's position, he refused to release the prisoners of Tatarus.

Uranus' prophecy bothered Clonus, so he did not let the children live, but swallowed them at birth. His wife, Leah, wanted to free her child, so she turned to her mother.

Still angry, Cronus has returned to the promise to release her imprisoned children, Gaia and Uranus. They told Rhea to give a stone to her next child, Kronos instead of Zeus. She hid her youngest child on Crete and Gaia took him to an adult.

Zeus and his daughter, Metis liberated his brothers and sisters. Metis gave Cronos a medicine that caused him to vomit. He soon begged stones and other children. After securing freedom of brothers and sisters, Zeus released the prisoners of Tataros. Cyclops brothers blinked his lightning bolts with gratitude

Arranging his army, Zeus fought Cronos in a war lasting ten years, eventually detained his father and his supporters with Tataros. Shortly thereafter, Zeus took his father's position as the Lord God of the Greek Pantheon, and he will reserve a place for the entire Greek myth.

Greek mythology began around 775 BC. It all started with Homer's Iliad and continued at Theogany of Hesiod. These are the first two myths recorded in Greek mythology. These two myths reveal their understanding of the universe and its culture. They not only talk about their various gods and heroes, they talk about how they see the whole universe (Rosenberg 79). "The myth is a generic term that represents a symbolic story in religion and is distinguished from symbolic acts (cults, ceremonies) and symbolic places and purposes (temples, icons)" (The New Encyclopedia Britannica. Volume 24) Myth is a series of myths designed to explain the universe. Myths are spoken in various cultures and civilizations. Every society knows the existence of myths. People imagined many different myths to explain the events occurring in nature.

Greek myth is a story and myth about the ancient Greek gods and goddesses. Greek mythology is a material of a wide variety of stories. Some myths are purely for entertainment purposes. Other myths are more serious and are used to explain the early Greek religious beliefs. Today Greek myth is known as the oldest religious form in Greece. Greek myth is the basic belief of the early Greeks. Early Greeks were polytheistic, which meant they were worshiping many gods like the gods of the Olympus Mountains (Tomb 34). The king of all Greek gods is Zeus. Zeus is the most important person in all gods, but he does not necessarily have the title of the king of God. Zeus stealed his position from the former royal family and his father, Cronus, was the giant and the king of the universe, he satirized the position as the king from his own father, Uranus.
