Probably Lenin himself is the most important factor of Bolshevik's success. He motivates those who believe that workers leaders should be an educated elite who can do most uneducated people can not do. He also developed a series of beliefs appealing to the working class. Bolshevik did not emphasize the noble ideological ideology. When they gain power, they have a direct plan, but they have little plan to do after they gain power.
The key issue is the reason Bolshevik succeeded in 1917. Candidates can provide short-term and long-term reasons for the success of Bolshevik, but if the second approach is adopted, the focus should be in 1917. Kerensky and the interim government were unable to fulfill some important commitments, but the candidate can discuss whether these are mistakes or whether they are forced into the government. For example, there is no election in the Constitutional Council, but when Russia is confused it is difficult to organize these elections. A more definite failure is a decision to continue the war. The internal differences and the power of the Soviets weakened the government. The economy is getting worse. Lenin led Bolshevik in a more decisive way. He recovered from the recession in July and established an important alliance with the Soviet team. The Cornirov case is another blow for the interim government and is also beneficial for Bolshevik.
Lenin succeeded in establishing the rule of Bolshevik in Russia. Because they demanded that all political power belong to the Soviet which they control. Bolshevik governed Russia, the government enacted an order to nationalize the land and hand it over to the farmer's owner. The Bolshevik government also kicked Russia out of war, but it believed that they would benefit only capitalism. Trotsky was imprisoned and was Lenin's chief collaboration leading the mighty Petrograd Soviets. He also organized a coup d'etat on 6 November and ended an armed attack against the interim government. Until 1921, the new Bolshevik government encountered large domestic resistance. By 1921, Lenin and his supporters were under firm control. Russia was kicked out of war, Germany was a great success
