In software, we often look at Apple for design inspiration. This makes sense. The company has been very successful, defining trends and boosting the envelope. However, copying Apple does not make you a trend leader or rule breaker. It will be a follower to you. Everything looks the same as everyone imitates Apple. Apple's clean and simple aesthetics is Apple's. It is not yours. Better yet, you will find something that you can move between it and the building. Take the time to understand it. How do people flow from one part of the building to another part? Is there a billboard? Do you know how you are inside the building? How do you feel when you see the street? What kind of change does this feel when you are walking? When will you leave?
