The Stroop Word-Color Test

Introduction: In this Stroop experiment, we tried to study perceptual reasoning by showing the stroop color model and the controlled black and white model to 20 participants and comparing the two reaction times. Stroop investigates perceptual interference and proves that perception is a dynamic process that may be affected. You can change the Stroop Color test to a language other than English to show how the Stroop effect "works" in different languages.

Stroop color word tests usually have basic tasks as controls and bothersome tasks, whether text-to-speech or color naming. . In the latter task, color naming takes more time than consistent color words and error prone. The stroop interference effect (hereinafter referred to as the Stroop effect) means delayed naming of color words. In this exam, the stroop effect was statistically significant, but it was not fully explained. Two theories are trying to explain this effect. The speed of processing theory suggests that interference occurs when words are read faster than color. The selective attention theory thinks that naming colors requires more attention than reading words

As you understand now, the stroop effect is how difficult it is for people to name ink colors instead of words themselves. In the case of Stroop, there is "interference" between ink color and word meaning. No matter how hard you try, this kind of interference will occur, which means that it can not be controlled with the most conscious effort.
