The Space Race

After the Second World War, Europe fell into poverty. Towns, cities, roads, and houses were all destroyed in conflict, the majority of the great and powerful European forces failed to maintain the former powers. Space competition between America and the Soviet Union is a bilateral competition over quality space technology. There are both victory and tragedy in this game. The Soviet Union could not return to its original state because economics was too weak. In 1985, Mikhail Gorbachev became leader of the Soviet Union. He took an attitude of reconciliation to Americans and signed many agreements to reduce weapons.

After the satellite was launched in 1957, Americans' fear of the military superiority that the Soviet Union may acquire helped to ignite the first space race, former President Ronald Reagan won the 1980s I tried to build air defense with Star Wars plan.
