The Sensorimotor Stage of Piaget’s Theory of Cognitive Development

Jean Piaget theorist Jean Piaget is most interested in the development of children's knowledge organization. Piaget's cognitive development theory begins with the sensory movement stage. I think that sports intelligence thinks by observing objects and reacting to it. Through this stage, children understand that things will continue to exist even though they can not be seen as being said to be permanent. This is known as the periodic response when children show activities that create experiences that lead to duplication of behavior.

Between 18 months and 3 years old, the infant reached the stage of "sensory movement" of Piaget's cognitive development theory including primary ideas. For example, they understand the persistence of objects and people, visually track the movement of objects, and start using tools and tools. Young children begin to strive for more autonomy. It may bring challenges to parents who care about their safety. They also understand their discipline and what is appropriate and inappropriate. And they understand the concept of "please" and "thank you".

Jean Piaget's cognitive development theory explains how children represent and infer the world. This is a developmental stage theory that includes the sensory motor stage, the pre-operation stage, the specific operation stage and the formal operation stage. Piaget is a pioneer in the field of child development and continues to influence parents, educators and other theorists. Development psychologist Erik Erikson proposes eight life stages that everyone must develop. In order to proceed to the next stage, this person has to find a "crisis" that must resolve the new dilemma. At each stage, they have to understand and balance the two conflicting powers, so parents can choose the range of parenting style to appropriately help each child at each stage. The first five of his eight stages occurred in childhood: the virtue of hope needs to balance trust and distrust, usually from birth to 1 year old

The basis of the theoretical development of Piaget is that "thinking comes from action", (small), or nature is dominated by cultivation. Piaget proved this at his cognitive development stage, the first of which was the sensory stage. The stage of sensory movement is until two years continue since birth. During this time, "Infant movement, lack of physical and mental accuracy, her activities and attention are externally stimulated" (Sigel & Cocking). Piaget believes this is a purely physical stage, and the kids almost completely rely on their physical emotions: vision, taste, tactility, and hearing. During the sensory motor phase, several important developments took place. The children have developed two development milestones, object persistence and strangers anxiety. Like other stages of Piaget, the sensory stage emphasizes our instincts and personality by not emphasizing the influence of parents.
