The Sense of Family: A Narrative of Three Generations

The purpose of this research is to explore how families build the meaning of the word "family". In this paper, it is based on the analysis theory of the past four qualitative studies. This includes individual interviews with 14 family members living in Caracas, Venezuela. In both cases, an interview from three generations was held. The story includes references to other families. The results show the importance of families in the participants' discourse, whose significance is related to the origin and structure of the institution. Middle-class families believe that family structure plays a central role in child education and social stability. The generation's tradition and experience are important for lower grades. However, members of the 2nd generation and 3rd generation tried to preserve distances from many traditions and experiences of the 1st generation because the lifestyle was very different.

The author carefully studied the life of three generations of this attractive family. What the reader knows is how families are forced to negotiate difficult milestones between freedom and slavery, corruption and dignity.
