The Rope Ladder: A shifting Symbol in Kobo Abe’s The Woman in the Dunes

Abe Kobo launched a novel "Woman in the Dunes" and in the unnamed village the inhabitants cheated on the main character Niki Juan Pei and climbed the bunker along a steep rope ladder. The ladder made Niki go to prison, and its disappearance panicked Niki. It is a simple tool, but the rope ladder continues to appear in the physics of the novel and Nicki's desire. The ladder of Abe 's "daughter of a dunes" is a layered symbol used to deepen the understanding of imprisonment, hope, and pursuit of freedom for the reader's diary.

A novel by Aki Tani, "A Woman in the Dunes", which appeared in 1962, was translated into 20 languages, adopted as a winning work by Mr. Teshiko Hara, the Cannes Film Festival, and Toru Takemitsu scored. In 1993, each of the seven novels I wrote before Abe died was 68 years old, he received praise as avant-garde writer and recorded only over 100,000 sales in Japan alone. In Abe 's novel, plots and characters are usually affected by thinking and symbols. This makes the sand dune woman somewhat abnormal. The plot is embarrassing, addictive but easy. Amateur entomologists arrive at remote areas of the dunes, hoping to identify sand beetles. When the night went down, the villagers kept him in a crumbling house at the bottom of a funnel-shaped bunker. I can only lower it with a rope ladder. A young lady in the house carved the sand finely into a bucket and was lifted by the villagers. Her house was one of the fortresses that prevented the village from being swallowed by the advancing sand dunes. When I awoke, the man learned that the rope ladder had disappeared. His attempt to leave the pit repeatedly failed, and he began to notice that the first one was suspicious, then angry and then fear, and he is now the applicant for this Sisyphean work.
