Important bibliography / research projects During the post-classic era, Buddhism played a political role in changes in Japanese culture and changes in Chinese and Japanese culture. INTRODUCTION As early as the fifth century, surrounding culture began to mimic China, due to China's excellent civilization and remarkable innovation in technology and economics. During this period, Japan and South Korea adopted most of China's cultural and political practices. Buddhism is a religion which China chose from India and from China to Korea and Japan during the transformation of Chinese culture.

Since Japan accepted Buddhism through Korea, China, Central Asia and ultimately India, cultural exchange between India and Japan is not easy. The Japanese found Buddhism in the 6 th century, and the missionary monks traveled to the island with numerous scriptures and works of art. Through the adoption of Buddhist ideas and aesthetic concepts, the cultural contact between Dharma civilization in India and Japan promoted the development of the national culture order in the later century. Buddhism was adopted by the state in the next century. Japan located geographically at the end of the Silk Road can save various aspects of Buddhism when India disappears and is suppressed in Central Asia and China.

The spread of Buddhism to East Asia is a major development in the history of world culture and religion. It contributed not only to major changes in the culture of China, Korea, and Japan, but also to the transformation of Buddhism itself. This course begins with introducing basic concepts of Buddhism, from the historical point of view, it examines the main teachings of China and Japanese Buddhism, meditation, godliness, institutional tradition, theme. Special attention is paid to the spreading of ideas from one culture to another, and the way Buddhism changes to address these challenges and to relate it to members of East Asian society. In order to help China and Japanese Buddhism interact with the history of East Asia, to help shape East Asian history, to foster sensitiveness and gratitude to East Asian Buddhism, to promote understanding of human experience I will make an effort.
