The Rhetorical Situation

There are two purposes for this article: the first describes the elements necessary to build an effective enhancement, and the second explains how to use them to achieve the goal. The theme I chose was to treat young people as a serious crime for adults and to allow readers to make decisions about the facts presented. According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, rhetoric is defined as the art of writing focusing on formal and effective persuasion or persuading or influencing people.

Lloyd Bitzer began a conversation with an article titled "Rhetorical situation" in 1968. Bitzer wrote that rhetorical discourse exists throughout the context. He defines the rhetorical context as "a complex of people, events, things, and relationships that show actual or potential emergency situations." In 1968, Lloyd Bitzer claimed that the discourse was determined by his rhetorical situation in an article titled "Rhetorical situation." Bitzer said "There are words in this situation." Therefore, the situation controls what kind of rhetorical response will happen. In either case, there is appropriate response. In that case, the rhetor may or may not take action. Because discourse is created only as a response to a specific situation, he expresses the urgency of creating a discourse. Discourse depends on the meaning of the situation - its background, hence it is "embedded in this situation"
