Greek cities expressed dissatisfaction with their leaders appointed by Persia. The leader (tyrant) enjoys plundering all power and plays an important role in expanding the Persian empire in the territory of neighboring countries, making the Greek people unhappy. In addition, some tyrant's personal behavior caused resistance. For example, the political conspiracy between former Miletus' Chisuhi Tiau and his nephew and his heir Arista Goras led to incineration of Persian city Sardis. The Persians were forced to respond to these attacks and contained these revolts.
