Introduction On 21 November 1970, a joint task force between the military and the Air Force tried to rescue prisoners from Sonthai prison camp in 23 miles west of Hanoi. Task Force is composed of 56 Special Forces soldiers and 13 aircraft and crew members and is commanded by BG Leroy Manor, LTC Leroy Snydor and COL Arthur "Bull" Simons as Deputy Commander and Army Commander. The prisoners were not rescued, but due to the cooperation of relevant agencies and branches in the planning and implementation of the investigation, this task was considered successful.
