Representation of British art in the 19th century The art of the 19th century made us deeply aware of the Victorian society and culture, its hopes, fears, likes, dislikes, its ambitions and failures, its prejudices and contradictions. Important figures in British art world include William Blake, William Hogarth, JMW. Turner and John Constable from the 18th century to the early 19th century. 20th century artists include Francis Bacon, David Hockney, Bridget Riley, and popular artists Richard Hamilton and Peter Blake. Lord Epstein born in New York is a pioneer of modern sculpture. Recently, so-called young British artists, in particular Damien Hirst and Tracey Emin became famous. Famous illustrators include Aubrey Beardsley, Roger Hargreaves, Beatrix Potter.

Over the centuries people with Down Syndrome have been mentioned in art, literature, and science. However, British physician John Langdon Down announced accurate explanation of Down's syndrome patients until the late nineteenth century. It was this academic research announced in 1866 that was recognized as a "father" of syndrome. Others had previously recognized the characteristics of this syndrome, but Mr. Tang explained the situation as a unique and independent presence.
