The Relationship Between English Achievement and Proficiency Tests

Introduction It became clear that language learning means learning how to use languages ​​without learning languages. The use of this language depends on our abilities (knowledge, skills, and characteristics) and can participate in communication activities. The European Common Reference Framework (CEFR) began working on the use of languages ​​through an exchange environment that divided it into four areas (personal, official, professional and educational). It identifies the four modes of communication: production (talking and writing), reception (listening and reading), interaction (speaking and writing) and mediation (translation and interpretation).

This study consists of 129 non-English major majors and examined the relationship between learner's autonomy and English proficiency level. Researchers were asked to (i) a standard test to determine the English proficiency of the participants, (ii) a questionnaire to explore participant autonomy and differences of participants, and (iii) We used an interview to identify relationships and differences. The result shows that the higher the English level of the student, the higher the autonomy. This research gives me a cautious view of the fact that the ability of students may influence the recognition of 'learner autonomy', so to some extent this research is relevant to my research.
