The Reasons for the Failure of Reconstruction

It was named as the former slave paid the landowner a "share of crop". Most previous slaves have a strong tendency to hire workforce, theoretically strengthening ownership and workflow management. In fact, tenant farmers can not earn enough money to buy land. The landowner broke the land into small compartments of African Americans and poor Caucasian families, so the big plantation broke. As well as the interests of slaves and plantation owners, there is also a conflict of interest between farmers and landlords.

One of the main reasons for the failure of reconstruction is the decline in crop prices. Many farmers and tenant farmers can not live on their income. Cotton price fell by nearly 50% due to depression. Many major crops such as tobacco, rice, sugar are also decreasing. "The recession disrupts business activities, destroys merchants, severely hurts economic conditions and craftsmen, and virtually eliminates the social mobility outlook of unethical workers from both ethnic groups."

The south collapsed the rebuilding and failed. Violence against all people who support black rights is occurring in the South, and reconstruction is the main cause of failure of reconstruction. Northern chooses to ignore what happened in the south, which was the cause of violent failure in the south. Because of the tragedy, South is even more wrong. Reconstruction began after the Civil War in 1865 and continued from the late 1860s through the 1870s. Extreme Republicans are most active in helping blacks, and Grant is trying to help the south economy, South violence does not stop.

The fourth school thinks that the main reason why rebuilding failed is that it is impossible to suppress white violence in the south when trying to reverse the income of black people. Etcheson (2009) pointed out that "violence spoils southern Republicans' willingness of southern blacks and abandonment of white people." Echson wrote that it is difficult to understand that rebuilding is "mere failure". Mr. Etcson added: Other historians have emphasized that Southern allies are not fully incorporated into the Republican coalition. Derek W. Frisby pointed out that "Reconstruction does not understand the issues of the Southern Alliance and does not incorporate these loyal southern people into a strategy that can have a positive impact on the essence of peace."
