In order to explain what we learned from globalization and localization and the articles we provided for homework, I would like to define this word before starting from my point of view. Globalization is a term that means that "something" is changing the way that turns attention to regional and traditional arrangements in the human national system. Globalization makes land boundaries and identities less noticeable. In other words, people, objects, information, norms, customs, institutions can be inadvertently moved or cross country borders.
In this article I will explain the pros and cons of globalization. Globalization, or an increase in interaction among individuals on issues such as trade and communication, is a controversial issue in international relations. In the discussion on globalization, we will evaluate various discussions. Let's review the critics' opinions on the arguments and globalization advocated by advocates of globalization. Globalization has many features such as "international mobility of ideas and knowledge, sharing of culture, civil society of the world, global environmental movement", Stiglitz, 2007: 4). However, many people are also looking at globalization from the perspective of economics and political economics. From an economic point of view, globalization is "to increase the economic integration of countries around the world by increasing commodities and services, capital, and even labor force" (Stiglitz, 2007: 4).
Other places discussed various aspects of globalization in international relations. I introduced the theme of globalization and the history of globalization. We also evaluated the strengths and weaknesses of globalization and discussed related topics such as media and globalization, trade and globalization, and relationships between globalization and technology. In this article, I will learn about the relationship between culture and globalization. The scholars believe that the focus of globalization is primarily on economic problems (Globalization 101). However, we need to understand the relationship between culture and globalization. Therefore, I will define cultural globalization, discuss how culture and globalization interact in international systems, and discuss the benefits and criticisms of globalization related to cultural issues.
One of the criticisms mentioned above focuses on globalization and poverty. As to the debate over the pros and cons of globalization, globalization critics emphasize the negative impact of economic liberalization related to the number of the poor. They believe that globalization does not help people get rid of poverty, but in reality they have already poverty more people. As explained by Stiglitz (2007), poverty in developing countries has increased in the past 20 years, except in the case of China. Approximately 40% of the world's 6.5 billion people live in poverty (36% higher than in 1981) and 687 million people live in extreme poverty (3 from 1981 %increase). The most serious failure is Africa, the proportion of people in extreme poverty has increased from 41.6% in 1981 to 46.9% in 2001.
