The Pre-Raphaelites

Pre-Raphaelite, a group of British painters, poets and critics of the 19th century, responds by developing bright religious imitations on the practice of the Victorian and Neoclassical themes. More specifically, "The most beautiful thing is the theme from the brotherhood group before Raphael and its followers, bright and vivid colors, fair women, and themes from myths and legends." (Dark Amber 1). People in this group were influenced by early Renaissance painters and medieval times.

Dante Rossetti Rossetti (1828-1882) was regarded as a famous British poet and painter in the 19th century. William Morris Morris (1834-1896) is a British artist, poet and social reformer, reflecting the interest in medieval art and Gothic architecture.

Christina Rossetti became the incarnation of Hopkins' Raphael Middle Middle Ages, Oxford Movement, and Victorian Religious Poems.
