The Power of Choice

The main character should answer the telephone and call Campbell at "the first threshold intersection" (28). The intersection of the first threshold is symbolized in character selection to leave the presence state and enter a new unknown state. The freedom in the true sense is the independence of choice (Willkür), not the necessity of emotional impulses. Since it is influenced by pathology (by movement of sensitivity), the power of choice is prudent, if pathologically necessary it is called brutality of arbitration. In modern Kande / Frankfurt 's desire criteria model, Willkür, or the power of a human choice / wise will, is an effective primary desire, or primary reason, will, or a practical reason (whether impure ) / Musical instruments and pure / non-instrumental music is the second will. The power of choice is effectively oriented toward one or more goals, and satisfaction of desire creates joy or psychological pleasure. In other words, the actual reason is to recognize the objective value of these goals. It is useful for practical reasons when it recognizes that it is ultimately a means of creating happiness. It is not beneficial when the actual reason responds to its purpose for its own benefit. Therefore, the actual reason is that the voluntary response to the rationality of the agent is inherited from the structure of the reasonable human will itself, leading the agent to take intentional actions.
