Harvey Silver born on November 6, 1929 is always a unique person. As a child he studied at various schools in New York including James Monroe HS and Theodore Roosevelt HS. Shortly after graduation, Harvey worked at the American Army Medical Team from 1947 to 1948. After serving, he went to Israel and worked for one year at Ngev's Kibbutz. Silver released his first poetry in the 1950s and began to trace the rest of his life through poetry and art. In 1958, his poem titled "Step" was published in the first issue of Yugen magazine.
