Scorpion's night and my aunt in Pakistan compared the way the poet introduces people on a gift night with my aunt's nephew in Pakistan. We live in a multicultural world where everyone has their own way of communicating. Two completely different poems reflect this. In order to compare and contrast the obvious traditions in poetry, we must further analyze Nissim Ezekiel's "Scorpion Night" and Monica Alvi's "Pakistan's Aunt's Gift".
"A gift for my Auntie Pakistan" is about a girl born in Pakistan. She came to England when she was young. When she grew up, she received a gift from my aunt from Pakistan. She wears various traditional Pakistani clothes. Whenever she thinks about her nationality, she feels incomplete. This poem is written to show how a girl feels when friends see their clothes.
