Throughout history, there was a split between the East and the West beyond the Pacific and the Atlantic Ocean. In a nutshell, the world is separated by philosophy, culture, tradition and religion in the east and the west. However, with the spread of globalization, various religious and philosophical movements have spread from the east to the west and vice versa. There are many East Asian religions, traditions and philosophies in the West, but some concepts related to the West are not received seriously in Western society whether it is still not accepted by many people.
Philosophical reason - a powerful symbol of beginnings and ends: the beginning and end points have important symbolic and spiritual meanings in almost all religions and cultures. We celebrate the beginning, celebrate the school (graduation ceremony and graduation ceremony) with the end of life (birthday and funeral), union (ceremony of marriage and parting), year (New Year's Eve and New Year's Eve). Departure is an opportunity to review new things with expectations, impression, and bold goals. The last is an opportunity full of gratitude, recognition, and lessons learned.
Zazen is also called "just sitting". Meditation is often thought of as a means of achieving the purpose, but it is itself the aim. When it comes down to something other than a road, it loses its meaning. Ancient mystics remind us that the journey is a destination, but we still insist on trying our destination. Why are we doing this? In this respect, Zen is the reversal of most of our activities as modern Westerners. When we are not doing things to the outcome, we make it possible to do things against the results, or do other things to do other things . We are designing our entire life around an abstract goal and ideal that has never proved us permanent salvation or satisfaction. For these rationalists who call themselves empiricism, there is no evidence that the pursuit of idealism and materialism makes us happy.
