Alcohol has existed since the earliest depth of history. From our ancestral era, people enjoy the temptation of drunk. But they like it too. Human alcohol intake brought them great sorrow. Abuse of alcohol can impair human judgment and even death of drinkers. Especially in America. In the United States, overdose and abuse of alcohol is a serious and dangerous issue not only risking consumers but also risking participation of consumers and consumers.

In Colby, overdose of alcohol and its dangerous effects are not new problems, but recently due to hospitalization, it has become a problem entirely throughout the campus. On September 29, e-mails on alcohol intake were sent to the students' body from Managing Director of hospitalized patients and assistants. Email deals with the number of hospitalizations caused by recent excessive drinking and the impact on the Colby community. We also discuss the role of the community to maintain mutual safety, and point out that there is a lack of friendship in the center of the problem. Please intervene and tell us to slow down. It is not about focusing on individuals who adjust their own consumption, but about fellows who take students as a whole and prevent excessive indulgence.

Korsakoff syndrome is one of the causes of ataxia which is well studied in rat and mouse models. Long-term excessive drinking and malnutrition causes vitamin B (thiamine) deficiency, which not only mainly causes memory impairment but also interferes with balance and motor control. Vitamin E has a neuroprotective action, and if the body can not ingest all of vitamin E from a meal, there is a possibility of causing nervous system problems such as ataxia without it. This is called AVED (combination of vitamin E deficiency). Both laboratory and clinical studies investigated the effect of lifetime high-dose vitamin E, which reported that it may reverse ataxism to some extent. For example, this study shows that alpha-tocopherol (a form of vitamin E) almost completely prevents the onset of neurological symptoms in the AVD alpha-TTP knockout mouse model.
