James Baird Weaver was born June 12, 1833 as Abram Weaver and Susan Weaver in Dayton, Ohio. In 1842, the weaver lived in the land of Suck and Fox which opened newly in the territory of Iowa. In 1858, he married Clara Vinson with eight children. He was an abolitionist and an early member of the newly-launched Republican Party.
