The Outbreak of AIDS in the United States

The 1980s and the early 1990s were controversial periods in American history. The most persuasive controversy comes from the epidemic of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) / acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). There are many theories about how disease spreads, but the well-known cause of epidemics is poor medical waste technology. In the 1980s, most medical waste management was regulated by each province. The most common way of medical needle care at the time was to use a red plastic bag labeled "Infectious". As epidemics increase, laboratory technicians who treat infected individuals find these bags useless to prevent disease.

AIDS is a pretty new disease in the United States. The first AIDS report was made in 1981. Since these incidents, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has closely monitored the epidemic in the United States. The cumulative number of AIDS cases reported in December 1996 was 581, 429. In these cases, the total death toll was 362,004 people. As a result, the number of people infected with HIV is 76,664 and 216,769 respectively. It is reported that 5% of cases are derived from statistical areas other than the metropolitan area (CDC 1996). Rural statistics are not published in the CDC report

When the outbreak began in November, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention doubted tap water. Coincidentally, almost at the same time, a new disease journal at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention published a report on the occurrence of Elizabeth disease for nearly two years in London's intensive care unit. The outbreak eventually began with a contaminated faucet of hospital sink. However, tap water in Wisconsin is negative for bacteria. In addition to the mystery of embarrassment, this occurrence did not match with other infection patterns that appeared in the same group of facilities. That is, I do not know the answer (yet!)
