The Origins of the Universe

Who or what made the universe? How did you start? As we have seen, did the universe always exist or did it suddenly start in some form? During the past century people have discovered that the universe is expanding and people want to know the reason. These are the questions Big Bang theory is trying to answer. Not everyone is completely convinced of all the details, but the Big Bang is the most widely accepted theory about the origin of our universe. According to Big Bang theory, the universe is said to begin with infinite small volume expansion of extremely high density and temperature.

The Big Bang model is the best scientific model currently described about the origin of the universe. Please be aware that you are using the word "origin of the universe", not the word "creation of the universe". I believe in God, but the word creation has a theological significance. In a scientific context, I prefer to say "the origin of the universe". From a scientific point of view, the Big Bang is our best explanation so far. From a theological point of view, we have a religious outlook on the origin of the universe. We say that there is an ongoing process of creation as God maintains the universe with his will. From the Big Bang model, we can say that there is a beginning ... we have the age of the universe (about 14 billion years). This is pointing to the universe in the beginning. Therefore there is no contradiction between science and theology, which is considered to point to the universe.

Old Earth Creationism is a transformation of the origins of the universe and the creative view of Earth's life. As a theory of origin, it is more consistent with the mainstream scientific ideas of the geology, the cosmology and the Earth's era and the younger earth creationism. Young Earth Creationism is a sort of religious belief that heavenly, earth and earthly life was created by God's direct actions from 6000 to 10,000 years ago. That believer is a Christian, a Jew, and a Muslim who believes that God created the earth in six hours and recorded the Hebrew Genesis as a written record.

Religious cosmology is a way to explain the origins of the universe and to manage the principle or "order" of reality. In its simplest form, cosmology can be a story of origin, interpretation of history, the present situation, the future of a possible world, and the origins, spirit, divinity and power of people. The story of the origin of the ancient Greeks began with the creation of confusion. It was the first thing that existed. The dark god Erebus and the nightly representative Nixus were born in a mess. Nyx bore Aether (light) and Hemera (daytime). Hemera and Nyx caused alternate day and night phenomena to withdraw from the dark. Aether and Hemera then made Gaia, the mother of all lives, and created the gods of the sky, the mountains, the sea and ultimately the Pantheon. One of God, Prometheus formed men with mud and gave them gifts of fire. This origin story reflects many important cultural concepts.
