The Old Testament

The Old Testament clearly shows that Israelis are "chosen" people of God. Judaism is not converted to religion, but we do not oppose those who worship the Lord according to traditional law. The Bible's attitude is that Israelis have committed many sins, but God is always forgiven. This is evident in Isaiah 4: 1, "Israel needs comfort, she will gain more from God" (Isaiah 40: 1). peace

This week we will carefully study the redemption of the Old Testament. This article features the HSCB study of the Bible, written by the Old Testament scholar Eugene Merrill. Dr. Merrill may have forgotten the Old Testament more than many of us know. Though he is a honorable professor of the Old Testament study of Dallas Theological Seminary, I am very thankful for his continued efforts to nurture his work and future. Many Christians believe that the Atonement of the Old Testament comes from the law of Moses, but in reality he realized that an Atonement is necessary before the Moses era. When Adam and Eve committed their first sin, they were ashamed so they avoided God (Genesis 3: 8). God proposes a plan of redemption instead of giving them as desperate, but it is a fellowship that could break between himself and humans.

Walter Brueggeman is an influential Protestant Old Testament Scholar who taught the Old Testament at Eden Theological Seminary and Colombian Seminary. His book "Old Testament Theology: Introduction" (Abindgon Press, 2008) 1 starts with a description of God's self-revelation in Exodus (especially 3-4: 17, 19-24: 18 and 32 ~ Chapter 34)). Then he gathers clues to the whole Old Testament, emphasizing sovereignty over God, the essence of Israel as God's people, and what God told Israel and the world.
