OCA is a member-led organization aiming to become a leader in the cattle industry in Oklahoma.

It is more than just a member. . . This is business investment. OCA exists to protect the country's capital, the state legislature, and the media's beef industry. OCA is representative of about 5,000 families of Oklahoma Ranch. We believe that by being together we can positively face the problem and influence the change and ideas that affect our future and our lives. The pastorists have a common interest, including respect for the lands entrusted to us and respect for livestock. Standing together, we can keep these common interests

As a spokesperson for the cattle industry in Washington, DC, the National Cow Rearing Association (NCBA) is changing cow producers nationwide everyday. We are a national organization that ensures the voice of independent cattle producers in Congress Hall, regulators, the White House. As the largest division of agriculture in the United States, there are dozens of policy issues about our industry everyday, NCBA is there and our members manage their business there.

Dr. Sarah Place is a senior director of sustainable beef production research, and is in charge of the beef inspection program and the National Beef Association. She was an assistant professor of the Department of Animal Science at Oklahoma State University. She grew up in a dairy farm in Chenango County, New York, where she obtained her doctorate. This month, the American Herders Association (USCA) submitted a petition requesting the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) to reduce the definition of "meat". In the petition, the USCA requires that meat and beef be defined as meat from animals raised, slaughtered and harvested in a "traditional" way. This petition is clearly a response to the emergence of cultured meat by Cell ag and plant based meat substitutes. It would be interesting to see how the US Department of Agriculture handles USCA petitions and raises interest in alternative traditional animal agriculture alternatives. It is unknown whether the US Department of Agriculture (responsible for the management and supervision of animal products such as meat, milk, eggs) or the US Food and Drug Administration (overseas products from cell culture) is responsible.
