Jane Elliott was an internationally renowned teacher, lecturer, interdisciplinary trainer and received the National Mental Health Association award for excellence in education.
Last week I participated in a lecture by Jane Eliot, a 3rd grade former teacher known for experiments of the famous "blue eyes, brown eyes" in the 1960 's. Please experience. This experiment was the subject of the documentary film "Eye of the Storm", and I and many other students saw this documentary film at elementary school. Eliot made a lecture on racist spirit over 50 years and revealed that there was nothing to applaud. Because it means that we are still having great ethnic problems in America. Over the two-hour speech she repeatedly called herself "scorpion", but over 2000 audiences screamed "Fucking Donald Trump" with a high fist. I have confidence that she has a lot of information to resonate with other people in the audience, but she also joined many tangents that I do not necessarily agree with.
Jane Eliot got her opinion and asked her students to have another help just by respecting colored people. Jane Elliott completed what she wanted; she showed her students about the treatment of isolation. One strategy used by Eliot is a figurative language. She advocates the idea of isolation and teaches students how they feel different people's feelings and skin color. Elliot's class is strongly supported by causal relationships. In the classroom, brown eyes may lead to poor treatment
Everyone learns in a different way. When teaching students how to influence racial discrimination, Jane Elliot uses a unique approach to experience. Instead of explaining these effects, she asks the students to accept these effects, divides the course into brown eyes and blue eyes, and treats the latter in a way that is normally reserved for people of color . This experience eventually brought about an explosive confrontation between Ms. Eliot and students who chose to leave the room - Ms. Elliott said to the people of color that her behavior is systematically racist I quickly remembered that it was not suitable. In this video, knowing something wisely indicates that different expression and explanation can create true understanding and sympathy, unlike feeling it.
