The Oedipus Complex

Inspired by Sophocles' Oedipus Rex and his analysis of his own and his patient's psychological behavior, Sigmund Freud developed the Oedipus complex. Freud believes that dreams are suppressed by the urge of Edeps common to humans. The name of the argument is very general, because many think that the meaning of Oedipus Rex is deeper than Freud's claim. Through the content of the drama, Sigmund Freud backed his complex through a tragic but inevitable prophecy of Oedipus. The Edipus complex was developed by the famous psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud.
