Clinical criteria describe the level of care indicated by a critical thought model called the care process. This practice includes areas such as assessment, diagnosis, identification of results, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nursing care process includes critical actions by nurses (RNs) and forms the basis of nursing decision making ("American Nurses Association", 2010). Evaluation is an accurate collection of comprehensive data on patient's health and condition ("American Nurses Association", 2010).

The care process is a preliminary introduction of a thought process used by nurses to collect, analyze and resolve patient care issues. Background The nursing process is thought to explain the proper nature of care, its scientific basis, the appropriate way of technical and humanitarian assumptions, encouraging critical thinking and creativity, and enabling problem solving in professional practice . Evaluate the application of purpose nursing process and its impact on Mecler region hospital. Methods Cross-section design using quantitative and qualitative methods was conducted at Mekelle District Hospital in March 2011. Qualitative data were collected from 14 hospital nurses at 6 hospitals and collected by simple random sampling method from 200 nurses selected by 6 hospitals. SPSS version 16.1 and subject analysis were used for quantitative and qualitative data, respectively. As a result, most of 180 respondents (90%) lacked knowledge, and 99.5% of respondents were positive about the nursing process. Conclusion and recommendations
