The Negative Impact of California's Three Strikes Law

"Three hits, it's out!" When the player strikes the ball, I guess this can be heard in a baseball game, but this sentence is used as a metaphor of three California strikes. This is a law that enforces life imprisonment for 25 perpetrators of serious crime or violent crime. The prisoner seems to be able to enter the prison, but even a misdemeanor is convicted. If the second crime is serious or violent it will be sentenced to the criminal.

According to the State of California Correction Service, thousands of people are sentenced to life imprisonment for the third non-violent strike, according to California's three strikes. Impatient California has been striking in three of the 26 countries in that country, but since the third country is not necessarily a serious or violent felony, shoplifting, further shoplifting, the basis of life sentence

One of the outstanding features of California's politically conservative era is its strict attitude towards crime. In 1994, California gained public attention with its infamous '3 Strike' bill. It permanently detained criminals after three felony violations and expanded the scope of the state prison system. The national drug war started in California and caused severe damage to many low income and minority communities. Today Californians overturn many of the signs of this repressive regime. As with many controversial policy changes, the first is voting. Only after late in that day, elected officials can accept emotional changes freely. There is no problem that this is not just legalizing marijuana. In 2016, the strut rate has reached 64, 57% of the vote is passed, which enables legalization of canned cans. There are other milestones.

Three strikes have spread nationwide since the symbolic adoption of the "three strikes and you go out" judgment guide in California in 1994. Later, the federal government and most US states have enacted or expanded similar enforcement penal code and customary criminal controls (Dickey) and Hollenhorst, 1999). On the surface, the early drop in the overall crime rate is the reason for three strikers. However, many researchers have attributed the majority of this phenomenon to existing trends unrelated to the law, claiming that the entire region of North America experienced a general recession in the 1990s (Eskridge, 2004, pp. 15-23).

Evaluation of the impact of "Three Strike" Act on California State and Washington State Crime Rates and Prison Population

Most of California's people are blamed on the strict narcotics law and its three strikes. For example, 9,000 criminals have been sentenced to life imprisonment in three strikes, many of which have not been convicted of serious or violent crimes. One of the third strikes was to steal work gloves from Home Depot. Californian citizens play their role to alleviate overcrowding. First, they adopted Proposition 36, which limits the use of non-violent crime by three strikes laws. And recently passed Proposition 47. This measure downgrades many of the nonviolent felons such as shoplifting and the possession of drugs to devotees. Together with these propositions thousands of prisoners, tens of thousands of felony beliefs, and tens of thousands of felons will be released in a year.
