Chairman's note: Burton W. Folsom is more than my favorite historian. He is also one of my best friends. So, as I have done dozens of times when I backed up his classic work "The myth of the baron baroness published by the Young American Foundation", I had some personal bias I admitted. But even if I do not know him or hate him, this is one of the best and most insightful books about American business and political history in the century. But I will say. His distinction between "market entrepreneur" and "political entrepreneur" has permanently changed the historical interpretation of our past important period - the number of years since the first edition of 1991.
