This "small suggestion" article was assigned to me by 12 honorary English teachers, this year by Mrs. Livingston. And the challenge is to write a satirical article about a topic or to write about a totally extreme and irrational subject. We started this satirical unit with a short story called The Modest Proposal by Jonathan Swift. The story is about those who want to eat poor families between 18 and 1900. In this story, men try to persuade readers to prove and support his theories using data, emotions, and logic. My satirical article is trying to rationalize the idea of turning it into clothes and shoes starting with a teenager who is "out of control" at the youth center. I enjoyed writing to it because I like to research it, so I added this project to my portfolio. In this article, we need to find many statistics about the youth scheme's budget, country debt etc. and more ideas to support me. Even if you think that it is crazy to try to convince the reader of such a crazy thought, it is a bit difficult. But I guess this is my favorite thing - it's a challenge. It is fun to brainstorm my paper with my friends.
"Moderate Advice" is a satirical article by Jonathan Swift, reflecting the Irish government's policy and strategy for the poor. In a "modest proposal" he criticized the contemporary society and morality delicately. Swift emphasized that people do not like doing all the possible things to balance the differences than people who are different from themselves. Swift does not attack the landlord and the country directly, but reveals the usefulness of their actions and plans. Using goals and facts, Swift criticizes the immoral life of this new world and predicts the death of civilized values.
Article: A modest proposal by Jonathan Swift is the most effective way to convey his proposal to imperialism as a universal theme. Instructional Statement: Jonathan Swift's "Humble Proposal" is using evidence to support its proposal and effective sentence styles. It also presents clearly defined problems and solutions compared to George Orwell's "Elephant Shooting" and Thomas Jefferson's "Declaration of Independence". Point 1: Swift's "moderate suggestion" is appropriate
Jonathan Swift's "Moderate Advice" was held in Dublin, Ireland, in the 18th century. The narrator is a very ironic person. His "discreet" proposal is by no means unobtrusive. This short story happened during the famine. In the face of famine Swift proposes the idea that they sell one year old children rich so that people will not be burdened by their families. The author is an important way of attracting viewers attention and attempts to help his readers see deeper politics. In a serious topic, "sarcasm of humor of humor" brings not only a bright side but also more attention than just talking about them. Jonathan Swift's "Humble Proposal" talked about the famine that occurred at the time and used humor to come up with economic ideas.
