Flood of the Mississippi River One of the biggest floods of the Mississippi River occurred in the summer of 1993. * The Mississippi River in St. Louis, Missouri had a flood period of 144 days from 1 April 1993 to 30 September 1993. * About 3 billion cubic meters of water overflowing from the river flows to the floodplain downstream of St. Louis. * All the large rivers in the Midwest, such as the Mississippi River, Missouri State, Kansas State, Illinois State, Des Moines, the Wisconsin River, and others are flooded. * 17,000 square miles of land was covered with floods in areas covering all or part of the nine states (North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa).

The flood of the Mississippi River in 1993 was the most expensive flood in America in the 20th century. It caused an economic loss of $ 20 billion. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration reported that more than 20 million acres were flooded in nine states. Approximately 54,000 people evacuated and 50,000 families were destroyed or damaged. Flood flooded 75 towns, some of which have never been rebuilt. The flood of the Mississippi River in 1927 was the most devastating flood in American history. More than 600,000 people evacuated, 500 people died of the flood, 1 million acres and 30 ft water occurred. In the past few decades, about 300,000 African Americans have been forced to live in refugee camps. This caused massive migration to African-American northern cities. Because of the flood, the US government has established a comprehensive dam system to manage the Mississippi River.

The flood of the Mississippi River in 1927, also called the flood of 1927, was flooded downstream of the Mississippi River in April 1927. This is one of the most serious natural disasters in American history. Land exceeding 23,000 square miles (60,000 square kilometers) flooded, hundreds of thousands of people were evacuated, and about 250 people died. After a few months of heavy rains the Mississippi spread to an unprecedented level and the first dam broke along the coast of Illinois on April 16th. Later, on April 21, the embankment of the Mound Landing in Mississippi withdrew. In the coming weeks the entire dam system along the river basically collapsed. In some places residential areas are submerged in 30 feet (9 meters) of water. At least two months have passed before the flood completely fits
