The Misanthrope

Misanthrope Like most plays, Misanthrope has few female characters. There are three women, one of them playing a major role and two called a bitter. One of the characters, Arsinoe expresses Morieres's view that women are foolish. Another female character is Eliante which hindered Alceste's enthusiasm. Foil characters tend to be overlooked, but this article focuses on its role and explains the typical personality of the general population.
